COST OF MOVING

We keep the cost of removals to a minimum. Our prices start from just £18* and unlike confusing computer operated quote sites where customers cannot speak to the removal firm, a lengthy process is involved and 20% commission is payable to the agency,  John is available on the phone seven days a week to respond to all customer queries and provide fast quotes tailored to each customers personal circumstances.  John can also visit your property [if living local], or supply a same day quote via phone call, text or email without the need to visit your property.

QUOTED PRICE 

The quote is based on the customer providing us with full details of the move beforehand. The price we quote is not an estimate. It will be a firm and binding quotation for work done based on customer information. Customers should be wary of firms who provide only a rough estimate of cost or quote only on basic [or inaccurate] customer information for the customer could well be in for a shock when the removal firm arrive.

There will be no commission payable to any agency. We do not charge VAT. We will not add any fuel or mileage charges to the quote. There are no excesses to be paid for awkward items, inclement weather, flights of stairs climbed or distance parked from front door etc.

All we ask is that customers notify us of their full circumstances i.e. distance involved, access, volume/quantity of goods and other services required and we will provide a firm written quotation based on this information.  Provided you have notified us of your full circumstances, and there are no delays outside of our control [no keys to house, over-hanging branches preventing proper access, sofa will not go up the stairs etc] the price quoted is the price paid. *£18 for one item/one man move in Bodmin.

HOURLY RATE PRICE

For customers who are unsure of what their circumstances might be because, for example, there might be multiple drops or pick ups, or the volume of goods isn't easily quantifiable, we can work on an hourly basis. So you can buy our services for a couple of hours, or all day, or we can just charge for the time taken. Please ring or email for further information.

Moving in Cornwall

As a rough guide only, the cost of moving the contents of a one or maybe two-bedroom property [approx. I full Luton] from Bodmin to Bodmin would be £170, or £125 using our one man and van service [with customer assistance]. VAT is not charged.

The rough cost of moving the contents of a one or maybe two-bedroom property [approx. I full Luton] from St Austell to Newquay [20 miles] would be £240, or £180 using our one man and van service [with customer assistance] Vat is not charged.

A three-bedroom property move from Truro to Plymouth, if not too heavily furnished and capable of being carefully stowed and carried in one 3.5 ton Luton would cost around £230 with one man [using customer assistance] and £290 with two men. If necessary, an additional trip in a medium sized van [not a Luton, with one man] for items not capable of being carried on the first trip would cost a further £100. This additional trip could be carried out either on the day, or before removal day. A second Luton run could also be undertaken if necessary.

Moving the contents of a medium furnished four-bedroom house from St Austell to Newquay would cost approx. £500 [two men and two trips] or £380 [one man and one van doing two trips with customer assistance]. VAT is not chargeable.   

Moving to Cornwall

Moving one load via 650 cu ft Luton from the West London area to central Cornwall would cost approx. £640  [two men], or £490 using our one man and van service [no VAT]. Alternatively, the customer could supply assistance at the London end, and we can supply assistance in Cornwall. This cuts out the need to pay for an additional member of staff to travel all the way to London. 

For moves up to a medium furnished four-bedroom property the cost for the same trip using two men and one 7.5 ton lorry or two 3.5 ton Lutons would be approx. £1200 [no VAT].  

London based customers should note that our prices are based on the proverbial Cornish low-wage economy. We are therefore able to undercut the equivalent London-based removal firm quoting for the same job.

Advisory note.

There are many factors that affect the cost of removals, i.e. steps to a property, availability of lift, number of floors in a house, distance parked from property, volume and type of goods, parking fees or penalties, unforeseen waiting time etc, so these cost estimates only serve as a guide. It is therefore imperative that customers fully acquaint us with their circumstances when asking for a fixed price quote.

European Removals

Cornwall man and van also undertake moves to Ireland and continental Europe. For practical reasons, non-UK moves are not quoted on an hourly basis.  Would customers moving furniture to or from any non-UK territory please notify us of the details so that we can provide a fixed price quote.
